Divers Headed to Air Force Diving Invitational
LARAMIE, Wyo. (1/28/25) – The University of Wyoming swim teams are headed to Green River, Wyo. for their outreach event to race against Utah on Friday. The divers are traveling to compete at the Air Force Diving Invitational Thursday through Saturday.
The outreach event is set to begin at 2 p.m. at the Green River High School Aquatic Center. Last season the Cowboys competed in the Green River outreach event against Utah for the first time since 2016, but this year the Cowgirls are joining them in competing against the Utes.
“We are excited to swim in front of Wyoming swim fans in Green River! Utah is a very strong team, and we are looking forward to the challenge of taking them on,” head coach Dave Denniston said. “We are thrilled that the women’s and men’s team will compete this year in what should be a very fast meet and our last dual of the season!”
The UW divers will be heading to the Air Force Diving Invitational starting Thursday and going through Saturday. The Pokes will compete on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards as well as platform. They will face competitors from Air Force, Missouri, BYU, Denver, Cal Baptist, Northern Colorado, Colorado State and Colorado Mesa.
Wyoming swimming and diving will have one final regular season event after this weekend at the DU First Chance Meet on Feb. 7-8.
