Swim Finishes Day Two of UNLV Invite

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (12/17/24) – The University of Wyoming swim team concluded day two of the UNLV Finis Invite Tuesday evening.

The Pokes raced the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and the 800-yard freestyle relay.

Cowgirls Sydney Metzler, Brynlee Busskohl, Tessa Bendokas and Mikayla Moore took third in the 200-yard medley relay, collectively going a 1:41.29.

Tara Joyce took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.87, a season best for her in the event. Andrew Ravegum came in fourth in the same event with a time of 1:39.21.

Busskohl finished in sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke, going 1:02.34.

Joyce, Avery True, Macey Hansen and Kali Franckowiak went 7:24.25 in the 800-yard freestyle relay which secured a third-place finish. Cowboys Adam Pannell, Caleb Ozenne, Ravegum and Luke O’Connor swam a 6:37.08 for second-place in the same event.

At the end of day two, the Cowgirls are currently in third place with 405 points. The Cowboys are in sixth with 268.5 points.

Tomorrow is the last day of the meet, with preliminaries happening at 10:30 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m.
