Suspect in Gillette shooting arrested

GILLETTE (WNE) — The 18-year-old man who had been at large since Tuesday after allegedly shooting another man was arrested Saturday night.

Kamren Crousore was arrested by the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the shooting of a 19-year-old man.

Deputies took Crousore into custody without incident at an unspecified residence, and he’s currently in the Campbell County Jail awaiting his arraignment on formal charges.

Crousore had been on the run since Tuesday afternoon following the shooting at a home on Echeta Road. The victim was taken to the hospital and was later flown to another hospital for further treatment.

Crousore, also known by his rapper name, “PURP IX,” has a long criminal history and is associated with the gang “IX,” according to court documents.
