CODY (WNE) — SkyWest Airlines will return to Yellowstone Regional Airport under the name of United Express.

“Commute Air has been unreliable, and we’re excited to have SkyWest back,” YRA Director Aaron Buck said during a February interview.

The largest regional carrier in the country, SkyWest will offer three daily flights starting May 23, four daily flights during peak summer season beginning June 27 and at least two each day year-round.

All airline flights leaving Cody this year will be bound for Denver.

“SkyWest has been an exemplary partner through the years, and we welcome them back,” said Ryan Hauck, executive director of the Park County Travel Council. “Reliable air service is a critically important factor for visitors and residents alike, and we are delighted that air travelers will have additional choices this summer.”

SkyWest served YRA for many years until 2022. It partners with major U.S. airlines United, Delta, American and Alaska.

SkyWest Airlines serves 237 cities in 42 states, Washington, D.C., Canada and Mexico and carried 38.6 million passengers in 2023. The airline features 485 aircraft in its fleet and recently announced the acquisition of up to 39 Embraer E175 aircraft, its most popular plane.
