Seven Wrestlers Ranked in Latest Update

LARAMIE, Wyoming (12/17/24) – The University of Wyoming wrestling team boasted seven ranked student-athletes in the latest edition of the polls. In addition, the Cowboys were ranked as high as No. 27 in InterMat’s dual team ranking and as high as No. 31 in WIN’s team tournament ranking.
Jore Volk (125) still headlines the list of ranked guys. He’s as high as No. 7 according to InterMat and WIN. He’s 2-2 and hasn’t competed since a dual at Oklahoma.
Joey Novak (197) is No. 13 in Flo and Open Mat’s polls. Novak is 6-3 but didn’t wrestle in Wyoming’s most recent dual at Penn State because of an injury.
Jared Hill (157) didn’t budge at all following a loss at Penn State. He’s still No. 19 in InterMat’s rankings, holding a 6-3 record.
Gabe Willochell (149) fell slightly following his performance in Happy Valley. He’s No. 22 in Flo and InterMat’s poll with a 4-5 record.
Cole Brooks (141) moved up a bit to No. 26 in InterMat’s rankings. He possesses a 4-5 record.
Sam Mitchell (HWT) reappeared once again in the rankings, checking in at No. 26 in Flo’s poll. He’s 4-1 on the season, having only competed at the Younes Hospitality Open in November.
Stockton O’Brien (133) rounds out the ranked guys, owning the No. 33 in Flo’s rankings. He’s 5-4 on the season.
Wyoming is back in action this weekend at the Reno Tournament of Champions. A select number of Cowboys will compete inside the Reno Events Center on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.
