Second earthquake in three days rumbles near Thayne

AFTON (WNE) — A second earthquake occurred west of Thayne on Sunday evening.

The quake, which occurred at 10:03 p.m., measured 3.0 on the Richter scale, according to the United State Geological Service.

The location was roughly 2.5 miles of Thayne near South Fork Miller Creek on the Idaho side of the border.

The earthquake followed a magnitude 2.4 quake that occurred in the same area just before 11:00 p.m. on Friday evening, January 31.
