Sandra June (Johnson) Lund passed away peacefully on the evening of June 18, 2021, in Newcastle, Wyo.
Sandra “Sandy” was born and raised in Newcastle. She attended Casper College and graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in journalism. Sandy was very creative and loved the arts.  She was a gifted writer including authoring a book, and writing for various newsletters over the years. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs. She spent her most recent years engaging in photographing the beauty of nature
and wildlife.
Sandra lived in various parts of the country including Huntsville, Ala., Denver Colo., and Albuquerque, N.M., before returning to Newcastle in the late 1990s.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Denton Lund, and parents, Earl and Dorothy Johnson of Newcastle.
She is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Perkins (Mark), and granddaughter, Marietta Perkins.
A memorial prayer service will be held on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Christ Church Episcopal in Newcastle. Interment of the cremains will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery
near Sturgis, S.D.
