Rodney Dean Lorenz, 49, of Newcastle, Wyo., passed away March 9, 2020. 
He was born Sept. 18, 1970, to Richard and LaRee Lorenz.
Not only was Rodney proud to be affiliated with Four Square Lighthouse Church, he was a loving son, father, brother, uncle and he was a friend to many. Rodney was a kindred spirit who enjoyed traveling over to Custer to drive through Custer State Park to view the scenery and wildlife, as well as camping. Rodney loved the color yellow and loved to play video games any chance he got. 
Rodney graduated from Highland High School in Albuquerque, N.M., then attended New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro, N.M.
Rodney is survived by his parents, Richard and LaRee Lorenz of Newcastle; older brother, Richard (Faith) Lorenz of Ridgecrest, Calif.; son, Daniel Flores of Custer, S.D.; nephew, Ryan Lorenz of Ridgecrest; niece, Hope Lorenz of Eureka, Calif.; uncle, Casey (Iris) Dunsmore of San Antonio, Texas; aunts, Suzanne Stairs of Chambers, Neb., Judith Lorenz of Newcastle, Lou Williams of Fredericksburg, Texas, and Sherry Williams of San Felipe, Texas; along with many other family and friends.
Rodney is preceded in death by his grandparents, Reinhard and Ada Lorenz, Kenneth and Amy Dunsmore, and Basil Williams; and his uncles, Steve Lorenz and Lee Williams. 
Memorial service for Rodney Lorenz was held at 2 p.m. on March 17 at Four Square Lighthouse Church, with Pastor Mick Bohn officiating.
