ROBERTA ‘ROBIN’ LARSON
Sept. 3, 1953–May 25, 2020
Roberta “Robin” Arleen Larson, 66 years old, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2020, at the hospital in Rapid City, S.D.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1953, in Greybull, Wyo., to Jimmy and Ruth (Norris) Decker and had one brother, Bob Decker.
She married Scott Larson on Feb. 12, 1977, and had their son, Saul Larson, on Jan. 19, 1978,
where they lived in Thermopolis, Wyo.
In 1991, they moved to Newcastle, Wyo., where she lived the remainder of her days. She worked at
Little One’s Childcare doing something she always loved: working with children.
Robin lived life to the fullest. Her most favorite hobby was being with her grandchildren. You would most likely see her at a wrestling tournament where her son and grandsons have all been wrestlers. She also loved going to football games, volleyball games, and art shows to cheer on all her grandkids, because she was their biggest fan. She was known by half of Newcastle as ‘Grandma,’ ‘Mom,’ or ‘Miss Robin.’ She had a huge heart and loved so many children. She was a great teacher and found a way to teach a lesson out of every situation.
Robin was preceded in death by her dad, Jimmy Decker; her mom, Ruth Decker; and her husband, Scott Larson.
She is survived by her son, Saul (Debbi) Larson; her adopted son, JR (Tera) Dawson; her brother, Bob (Amy) Decker; her grandkids, Ricky, Cadence and Scott Larson and Alyssa, Trayton, Johnna and Asic Dawson.
Graveside funeral service for Roberta Larson was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 1, at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle, with Pastor Wayne Wilson of Church on the Hill officiating.
Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Meridian Mortuary, 111 S. Railroad Ave., Newcastle, WY 82701. Condolences may also be expressed at
