LARAMIE, Wyo. (December 10, 2024) – In the first awards of the season, senior thrower Daniel Reynolds was named Mountain West Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday. This is Reynolds' third conference award and second from an indoor season.

Reynolds, from Granby, Colo., broke multiple records last Saturday at the Power Meet with his performance in the weight throw. With a personal best of 75’-1 ¼” (22.89 meters), he broke the Wyoming, Hager-LeBar Indoor Track & Field Venue and Mountain West record. Reynolds also leads the nation in the weight throw over several All-Americans from the 2023-24 season.

The weight throw wasn’t the only event for Reynolds at the meet as he also excelled in the shot put, finishing third with a throw of 55’-5 ½” (16.90 meters).

Previously, Reynolds won the conference Field Athlete of the Week award on Jan. 30 in the 2023-24 indoor season and on April 16 in the 2024 outdoor season.

Track and field will be back in action Jan. 17-18 for the Colorado Classic in Boulder, Colo.
