The resignation of trustee Travis Cochran was accepted by the Weston County Health Services board of trustees at their Dec. 20 meeting. Interested Weston County residents can apply for the vacancy.
According to Denice Pisciotti, the WCHS executive assistant, Cochran resigned because he was relocating outside of the county. CEO Maureen Cadwell said that, while Cochran will be missed, she hopes the board can find an applicant interested in health care.
“We would like the person to be interested in the health care of Weston County to bring positive changes,” Cadwell said.
Applicants must be registered voters and residents of Weston County.
“The open position will serve until May 2020, when the next election takes place,” Cadwell said. “The due date for interested parties is Feb. 8, 2019.”
After all applications are received, the board will review the applications and select the best person for the position, Cadwell said. The board is expected to interview each candidate before making a selection.
Applications are available at the front desk of the hospital, located at 1124 Washington Blvd., in Newcastle.
