The Wyoming Refining Co., Par Pacific in Newcastle will be testing the facility’s new siren system Friday morning beginning at 10 a.m.
The test should take roughly 20 to 30 minutes and include a variety of tones, according to process safety manager Don Steveson. He said that this test is necessary to make sure the new sirens are working properly.
“This is just a test and not to be alarmed on what is going on with the current turnaround we have going on,” Steveson said.
Currently, the company is in the midst of an approximately 45-day turnaround that will consist of taking out several older pieces of equipment and structure to replace and upgrade the facility.
