Purdum Hires Rachael Doyle-Guetlein as Associate Head Coach

LARAMIE, Wyoming (1/28/25) – University of Wyoming soccer head coach Josh Purdum announced an addition to the staff Tuesday. Rachael Doyle-Guetlein joins the Cowgirls as Associate Head Coach.

“I would first like to thank Josh Purdum and Peter Prigge for the opportunity to join Wyoming athletics and the Cowgirl soccer team and community,” Doyle-Guetlein said. “Wyoming has a rich soccer history, and I’m beyond excited to join the program ahead of its 30th season. I’m looking forward to building relationships with our student-athletes and coaching them to excellence both on and off the field.”

Doyle-Guetlein comes to Laramie from the University of Oregon. She was an assistant with the Ducks for five seasons. During her stretch, Oregon put together back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in 40 years.

Prior to Eugene, Doyle-Guetlein was an assistant at the University of Hawaii. She was with the Rainbow Warriors for two seasons, helping them compile nine wins in 2018 and a spot in the Big West Conference title game in 2019.

Before Hawaii, Doyle-Guetlein spent two seasons at Eastern Kentucky where she was on the same staff as Purdum. She helped the Colonels to a share of the program’s first-ever Ohio Valley regular-season crown in 2016, and they also advanced to the conference title game. The nine-win turnaround from 2015 to 16 was the largest in the NCAA that year.

Doyle-Guetlein played collegiately at Washington State where she earned a degree in kinesiology. She was named second-team Academic All-American in addition to reeling in first-team All-Academic Pac-12 honors twice.

Doyle-Guetlein was successful on the pitch, as well, garnering second-team All-Pac-12 honors three consecutive years. She was also named a captain three straight years.

Doyle-Guetlein originally hails from Sydney, Australia.
