Public Notice — Powder River Energy Corporation
Pursuant to the Wyoming Administrative Procedure Act and the Wyoming Public Service Commission’s (Commission) Rules and Regulations, notice is hereby given of Powder River Energy Corporation’s (PRECorp or the Cooperative) Application for Commission review and approval of its 2025 Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP), as more fully described below:
PRECorp is a non-profit cooperative electric utility subject to the Commission’s jurisdiction. Wyo. Stat. §§ 37-1-101(a)(vi)(C) and 37-2-112.
2. On July 28, 2025, PRECorp filed its Application pursuant to Wyoming Statute §§ 37-3-401 et seq., requesting Commission review and approval of its 2025 WMP. A WMP outlines actions the electric utility will take to minimize the risk of wildfire and to respond to wildfire events. WMPs must include in the wildfire mitigation plan, including areas that may be subject to a heightened wildfire risk, a description of the standards for inspecting infrastructure and performing vegetation management, procedures for deenergizing power lines to mitigate potential wildfires, and procedures to restore service after a wildfire.
3. PRECorp provided a list of agencies from which comments were solicited, the feedback received, and any actions taken by PRECorp in response to those comments along with their application. No rate review or review of prudently incurred costs have been requested in this docket.
4. This is not a complete description of PRECorp’s Application. You may review the Cooperative’s 2025 WMP at the Commission or online at: https://psc.wyo.gov/public-resources/wildfire-mitigation.
5. Anyone desiring to file a statement, intervention petition, protest or request for a public hearing in this matter must do so, in writing, on or before August 29, 2025. Petitions shall set forth the grounds of the proposed intervention or request for hearing as well as the position and the interest of the petitioner in this proceeding. The Commission encourages public participation and comments will be received throughout the entirety of this proceeding. The opportunity to present verbal comments will be available to anyone appearing, either in person or remotely, during future public proceedings related to this matter. Submitting written comments to the Commission by the deadline set forth above may allow for resolution of issues and/or concerns identified therein.
