Winter sports season at Newcastle High School is winding to an end and with the end of the season comes regional and state tournaments. Every eight years Newcastle has the opportunity to host both the 3A East boys and girls basketball regionals.
Beginning Thursday, March 5, at 8:30 a.m. a total of 24 games will be played, ending with the championship games at 6 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.
As these dates get closer, the News Letter Journal would like to extend a reminder to all local businesses that now is the time to begin getting ready for the large influx of people that will be coming to town for the weekend’s tournament! Now is also the time to contact Pam Penfield, our sales representative, to create your ads promoting your business and special announcements for the people that are coming to town.
The weekend’s basketball excitement will bring a total of seven schools’ boy and girls basketball teams to town, along with family, friends and fans. Teams include both the boys and girls high school teams from Buffalo, Douglas, Thermopolis, Burns, Rawlins, Torrington, Wheatland and of course, Newcastle.
Putting your business out there and in front of these travelers’ faces is the best way to increase business and benefit from the tournament that comes to town every eight years. Athletes, coaches, family and friends will be searching not only for places to eat but activities to occupy their time between their team’s games.
Contact the News Letter Journal today to take full opportunity of print and online advertising to make your regional basketball weekend as successful
as possible.
