Prepare While You Can

Don’t wait until it’s too late—learn what the Bible says about preparation, wisdom, and seeing danger before it strikes.

Some folks live like the good times will never end. They scroll, laugh, and shrug off anything that feels uncomfortable. But God’s Word doesn’t teach us to be careless—it tells us to be wise. It tells us to prepare.

Take the ant for example.

Proverbs 6:6–8 says,
“Go to the ant, you lazy one,
Observe its ways and be wise,
Which, having no chief, officer, or ruler,
Prepares its food in the summer
And gathers its provision in the harvest.”

The ant doesn’t wait until the cold hits. It works now. It stores up while there’s still time. No one’s standing over it with a deadline or a threat—it just knows to be ready.

That same wisdom shows up again in Proverbs 22:3:
“A prudent person sees evil and hides himself,
But the naive proceed, and pay the penalty.”

God isn’t telling us to live in fear. He’s telling us to open our eyes. When something’s coming, don’t just keep walking like it’s nothing. Take shelter. Get right with God. Set your heart on what matters.

And in Genesis 41, Joseph warned Pharaoh about what was coming. There would be seven years of plenty—and then seven years of famine. Joseph didn’t panic. He planned. He said,
“Let them gather all the food of these good years that are coming… as a reserve” (Genesis 41:35).

They stored up while they could. And when the famine came? They were ready.

That’s what the Lord is saying to us right now. Don’t sleep through the summer. Don’t wait for the shaking to start before you look up.

Prepare your heart. Wake up your spirit. Walk in wisdom.
