Pokes in the Pros: Preseason
LARAMIE, Wyoming (9/3/25) – The National Football League season gets underway Thursday night. The defending Super Bowl champion, Philadelphia Eagles, host the Dallas Cowboys. Below is a list of the former University of Wyoming football players and where they’re currently at in the NFL heading into the 2025-26 season.
Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills (quarterback)
Allen is entering his eighth season, all with Buffalo, and is fresh off being named the 2024-25 Most Valuable Player. He was 307-for-483 for 3,731 yards with 28 touchdowns and six interceptions during the regular season. Allen added 531 yards on 102 carries with 52 touchdowns. The Bills advanced to the AFC Championship Game, falling to Kansas City, 32-29.
Carl Granderson, New Orleans Saints (defensive end)
Granderson is entering Year No. 7, and each one has been in New Orleans. He made 61 tackles and was second on the squad with 5.5 sacks in 17 games played. Granderson also had four passes defended, one forced fumble and one blocked kick. The Saints struggled in 2024-25, finishing at 5-12.
Logan Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals (linebacker)
Wilson is heading into his sixth season, all with Cincinnati, and battled injuries in 2024-25. He played in 11 games and was still second on the team with 104 tackles. Wilson also logged two tackles for loss, one pass defended, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. The Bengals got off to a slow start and couldn’t recover en route to a 9-8 playoff-less season.
Chad Muma, Indianapolis Colts (linebacker)
Muma is entering Year No. 4 and his first with the Colts – his previous three years were spent in Jacksonville. He played in all 17 games last season with the Jaguars, accumulating 32 tackles. Muma’s new team, Indianapolis, went 8-9 in 2024-25.
Andrew Wingard, Jacksonville Jaguars (safety)
Wingard is entering his seventh season, all of which have been with Jacksonville. He battled injuries last season, only playing in eight games, making 15 tackles with three passes defended. The Jaguars were underwhelmingly 4-13 last season.
Frank Crum, Denver Broncos (offensive tackle)
Crum is entering his second season, both with Denver. He participated in six games as a rookie, playing 73 snaps. The Broncos were a playoff team at 10-7 last season.
Marcus Epps, Philadelphia Eagles (safety)
Epps is entering his seventh season and has played with four different organizations. Last year was spent with the Las Vegas Raiders where he suffered a season-ending injury in Week 3. This season, Epps will begin on the Eagles’ practice squad.
Treyton Welch, New Orleans Saints (tight end)
Welch is entering his second season, both with New Orleans. He did not get elevated from the practice squad last year. Welch will begin this season on the practice squad following a strong preseason.
Tashaun Gipson, Unsigned (safety)
Gipson has played 13 seasons in the NFL with five different organizations. He was on the Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers last year. Gipson participated in nine games, registering six tackles with one pass defended.
John Hoyland, Unsigned (kicker)
Hoyland graduated this past season from Wyoming and was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. He was cut by the Ravens and has yet to sign with any other team.
