Pokes Open Outdoor Season at Jack Christiansen Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (March 27, 2025) – The University of Wyoming track and field program looks to kickoff the outdoor season at the Jack Christiansen Invitational, hosted by Colorado State, Friday and Saturday, in Fort Collins, Colo. Friday will only hold the hammer throw at Noon while Saturday starts at 9:20 a.m. with track events and 10 a.m. with field events.

Wyoming will compete in 14 men’s and women’s events, nine track and five field each, in its first outdoor meet of the season.

OUTDOOR REFRESHER

With the indoor season in the rear-view mirror, outdoor track and field welcomes a slew of new events. You won’t find events like the weight throw, 60 meters and 60-meter hurdles that were staples of the last few months. Instead, you will see Pokes excel in events like the 100-meter dash, 400-meter hurdles and the hammer throw. Here is a list of events you’ll only see in the outdoor season.
