A Pair of Cowgirls to Play for U20 National Teams

Heidur Karlsdottir to play for Iceland – Karoline Lundin for Denmark

LARAMIE, Wyo. (June 13, 2024) – A pair of incoming Wyoming Cowgirl basketball student-athletes will be competing for their U20 national teams this summer. Heidur Karlsdottir will be playing with the Icelandic U20 team at both the Nordic and EuroBasket Championships this summer while Karoline Lundin will be playing for the Danish U20 team at the Nordics.

The Nordic Championships will be held June 24-26 in Södertälje, Sweden. Karlsdottir and Lundin have the chance to face one another at the tournament. The tournament also includes teams from Estonia, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The FIBA Division B EuroBasket Championships will be played July 6-14 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Iceland is in Group B along with Austria, Bulgaria and Ukraine. The top two teams from the 16-team field in the division will qualify for promotion into next summer’s A Division EuroBasket Championship.
