SCC football vs. Manson-Northwest Webster - Sept. 16, 2022
In their Class 1A-District 2 opener, the South Central Calhoun football team came back in major fashion by caging Manson-Northwest Webster with a 51-13 victory on Friday night (Sept. 16) at Titan Stadium in Lake City.
The big win on Homecoming was exactly what the doctor ordered for the Titans, prompted by a splendid night from senior fullback/defensive end Dominik Kistler. Kistler kicked out 73 yards and four trips to the endzone on just 10 carries.
Junior quarterback Gavin Batta and junior wideout Keegan Soard enjoyed a nice night, as Batta connected with Soard three times for 97 yards and two touchdowns.
The SCC defense also showed up, picking up a safety, a punt block, two interceptions and one fumble recovery.
Next for the Titans is a road trip, as SCC will face Eagle Grove in a Class 1A-District 2 matchup set for 7 p.m. next Friday at Gene Hinrichsen Field in Eagle Grove. The Eagles (1-3) fell to Woodward-Granger via a 50-6 decision on Friday evening at Hawk Stadium in Woodward.
Manson-Northwest Webster fell to 0-4, but will look to get into the win column by hosting Belmond-Klemme next Friday at the Keith Hart Athletic Complex in Manson. It will the Cougars' Homecoming game.
