SCC Homecoming 2022 - Sept. 14, 2022
Oh man, oh man. Homecoming at South Central Calhoun always brings the pomp, comedy and royalty in its student populace and from within the community.
SCC High School celebrated its HOCO 2022 festivities on Wednesday night (Sept. 14) in Lake City, starting with the Parade before switching to the Pep Rally, Skit Night and the Coronation Ceremony. The parade headed down Main Street before hooking around the Downtown Square in Lake City, before the fun went down at Titan Stadium.
At the end of the night, seniors Tyler Lightner and Lauren Korkow were named Homecoming King and Homecoming Queen, respectively.
Before previous royalty Kevin King and Addisyn Korleski crowned Lightner and Korkow, there was plenty of speeches provided by the SCC coaches, routines from the Titan cheerleaders and SCC Dance Team. There were also a few words from Homecoming Grand Marshal Brian Lantz (guitar and song included) and SCC booster club president Troy Whipkey. Then, there were the skits!
Speaking of skits, let's give a heavenly salute to Parker Rohlfs' goat. The goat will always have a place in our hearts.
The Titan football team will look to rebound, starting their Class 1A-District 2 slate with Manson-Northwest Webster at 7 p.m. on Friday at Titan Stadium in Lake City. SCC comes in with a 1-2 record, while the Cougars are currently 0-3.
