SCC football vs. Pocahontas Area - Sept. 2, 2022

The South Central Calhoun football team struck first, but couldn't overcome the heat and miscues, falling to Pocahontas Area in a nondistrict contest via a 30-6 result on Friday evening (Sept. 2) at Titan Stadium in Lake City.

Following a defensive slugfest of a first half that saw two interceptions by the Titans and two picks by the Indians, Pocahontas Area wore out the Titans out in a war of attrition in the second half. The Indians rattled off 30 unanswered points in the final two periods to hand SCC an uncommon home loss.

SCC dipped down to 1-1 so far into the 2022 campaign, and will travel to Emmetsburg next Friday to take on the E-Hawks at Duane Twait Field. The E-Hawks fell to Southeast Valley on the road via a 28-14 result on Friday at the SVHS Athletic Complex in Gowrie.

The Indians improve to 2-0, and will hit the road to face Sioux Central next Friday in Sioux Rapids.
