CASPER (WNE) — A widely circulated Facebook post from the account “Casper Planet” published Tuesday morning claiming that a truck carrying king cobras overturned near Casper is untrue.

The account that posted the story, which is AI generated according to online detection tool GPTZero, labels itself as satire in the page description.

Despite the label, the post — which has garnered more than 11,000 shares and 10,000 comments — was taken at face value by many who are unfamiliar with the page’s typical content.

In case the satirical nature was still unclear, Casper Planet posted a follow-up that declared “all the imaginary king cobras reported on Interstate 25 have been successfully captured.”

Some of the page’s other posts include “Wyoming Man Knocks Out Grizzly Bear, Nurses It Back to Health, and Rides It Home,” a weather forecast predicting “record normal temperatures” and “Rainbow Tornado Astonishes Casper, Wyoming in Rare Weather Phenomenon.”
