Motorcycle crash kills rider, deer

SHERIDAN (WNE) — A motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Interstate 90 Aug. 2 and hit a deer.
The incident occurred approximately 15 miles north of Sheridan in a construction zone marked with cones on the centerline.
According to a press release from Wyoming Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist struck the deer, lost control of the bike and became separated from it. The motorcycle slid west and came to rest in a ditch, while the rider came to rest near the centerline and partially in the eastbound travel lane.
Shortly thereafter, the driver of a 2024 Kia Sorento, also eastbound, did not see the rider in the roadway and struck the rider, dragging him for a short distance.
The rider was identified as Jorden McCullough (39) of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He died at the scene.
No occupants of the Kia were injured, and no citations were issued in the crash.
There have been 77 fatalities on Wyoming roadways in 2025, compared to 58 in the same period in 2024, and 90 in 2023, according to the press release.
