Michael Errol Farnsworth Sr., 75, beloved spouse, father, and son, was called to his eternal resting place on Sept. 14, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He entered this world on Aug. 14, 1950, in Newcastle, Wyoming, born to Gerald and Emma Farnsworth. 

He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1969 where he served in Vietnam before being honorably discharged. He then completed three years of accounting at the University of Wyoming before returning to help with the family drill-ing company. 

On Aug. 14, 1970, he married JaNel Dubsky, and they had three sons, Michael, Preston, and Paul. They were divorced in 1990. He then met and married his “favorite farm girl,” JoAnn Rowley, in 2002.

Michael had many notable interests, activities, hobbies, or passions: member of Newcastle VFW, Wyoming Cowboy Joe Club, NRA, Newcastle Lions Club, American Legion, avid hunter, loved to golf with his friends and family, and Denver Bronco season ticket holder since 1983. 

Preceding him in death are his parents, Buzz and Toots; and siblings, David and Pamila, who passed at birth. 

Michael is survived by his spouse, Joann Farnsworth of Newcastle; sisters, Patti (Bruce) Allen of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Gerry (Ron) Russell of Ogden, Utah; brother, Tom (Jamie) Farnsworth of Newcastle; sons, Michael (Staci) of Newcastle, Preston of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Paul (Carrie) of Newcastle; step-sons, Doug (Jenette) of Billings, Montana, and Damon (Rachel) of Belt, Montana; grandchildren, Trayton, Ashten, Ashton, Caylee, Canyon, Jordan, Riley, Brad, Paxton, Brinley, Mayes, and Laine; and great-grandchildren, Levi, Lennyx, and Ledger. 

Memorial services for Michael will be held Friday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Deacon Ken Pitlick officiating.
