LARAMIE, Wyoming (10/13/25) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team is back in action this week. The Pokes travel to the Oregon State Invite on Tuesday and Wednesday at Illaha Hills Country Club.
It’s a 54-hole competition with 36 holes completed Tuesday and the final 18 done on Wednesday. Each day begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The last time Wyoming participated in this tournament was 2009. So, it’ll be a new experience for the youthful Cowboys.
“This will be the next big adjustment – how different grasses work, playing at sea level, we’ll see different competition,” head coach Joe Jensen said. “Those are for sure going to be challenges for us, but it’s part of the growth process and part of what we are doing, and this will no doubt be a great experience.”
The Cowboys haven’t competed for a couple of weeks, but their last showing was their strongest of the young season. They placed seventh at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invite at the end of September.
Brody Leid enjoyed the best individual finish of not only the season but of his career. He tied for ninth at 207 (-9).
Kristof Panke and Conner Scheich have given Wyoming tremendous balance through three tournaments. Scheich was the low man at the Ram Masters Invite, albeit as an individual, and Panke paced the squad at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite.
Following the trip to Oregon State, Wyoming closes out the fall portion of its schedule in Hawaii. The Pokes are set to tee it up at the Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational from Oct. 27-29.
