LARAMIE, Wyoming (3/23/25) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team is back in action this week. The Cowboys travel to Eugene, Oregon, for the Duck Invite from Monday-Tuesday.
The tournament is being contested at the Eugene Country Club. It’s a par 71 layout that stretches 6,997 yards. It’s a 54-hole competition with 36 being played on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday.
It’s a 15-team field. In addition to Wyoming, Oregon, Boise State, Cal State Fullerton, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Grand Canyon, Idaho, Little Rock, Oregon State, San Jose State, Southern Illinois, St. Louis, UTEP and Washington are set to tee it up.
This represents the Pokes’ fifth tournament of the spring season. They’ve finished eighth, sixth, 12th and seventh at those competitions.
A number of different Wyoming guys have paced the team. While Brody Leid has either held the team’s best score or tied for it in the last three tournaments, Kristof Panke and Patrick Azevedo have also spearheaded the Cowboys’ effort.
Leid is currently riding a streak of three straight top 25s. He’s been honored as the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Week twice during that stretch and three times this season.
Following the trip to Oregon, Wyoming heads south to host its own tournament. The Cowboy Classic runs from March 30-April 1 in Maricopa, Arizona.
