Men’s Golf Ties for 11th at the Ram Masters Invite
FORT COLLINS, Colorado (9/18/24) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team moved up during the final day of the Ram Masters Invite. The Cowboys tied for 11th as a team at 13-ver.
Host Colorado State won the team title at 22-under. Utah Tech took runner-up with a score of 18-under, while Long Beach State and Colorado tied for third at 9-under.
Valparaiso’s Anthony Delisante led wire-to-wire to seize the induvial crown at 197 (-13). Colorado State’s Jake Rodgers was second at 201 (-9), and Utah Tech’s Tanner Telford was third at 202 (-8).
Patrick Azevedo led the Pokes. He saved his best round for last and finished in a tie for 31st. Azevedo fired a Round 3 score of 68 (-2) to log a three-round score of 212 (+2), and his last 18 holes featured five birdies.
Jaren Calkins nearly duplicated what Azevedo did. He carded a final-round 67 (-3) to check in at 215 (+5), which positioned him in a tie for 51st.
Damon Vilkauskas was third on the team, bouncing back from a rough Tuesday afternoon to shoot a 72 (+2) on Wednesday. That put him in a tie for 58th after a three-round total of 217 (+7).
Kristof Panke tied for 61st with a final score of 218 (+8). His roller coaster tournament concluded with a 75 (+5).
Brody Leid also tied for 61st. He was very consistent over the course of his three rounds, carding a final-round 72 (+2), which was one shot better than his first two 18s.
Ethan Smith, playing as an individual, shot a third-round 73 (+3). That gave him a total score of 219 (+9), which put him 66th place.
Davis Seybert, who was also playing as an individual, rounded out the Cowboy golfers. He tied for 77th after a final-round 76 (+6) that gave him a total of 223 (+13).
Wyoming has a quick turnaround. It travels to Colorado Springs, Colorado, for the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational from Saturday-Monday.
