CHULA VISTA, California (3/11/25) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team wrapped up play at R.E. Lamkin Invitational on Tuesday at the San Diego Country Club. The Pokes took 12th as a team at 868 (+4). Wyoming shot a 298 (+10) on the final day.

“It was not the final round we wanted,” head coach Joe Jensen said. “This will be something to learn from. We were in position, had an opportunity and it didn’t happen for us. You aren’t going to be successful every single time. We’ll be fine. We just need to keep putting ourselves in those situations.”

Brody Leid led the Cowboys throughout the tournament en route to a career-best 15th-place finish. He fired a final round 70 (-2) and had a three-round total of 210 (-6).

“I’m happy for Brody,” Jensen said. “He played solid. He played well in a good field and he was not intimidated by the stage and I knew he wouldn’t be.”

Kristof Panke was second on the team, sharing 45th place overall. He carded a final round 75 (+3) and had a total score of 218 (+2).

Damon Vilkauskas tied for 62nd at 221 (+5). He logged a final round score of 78 (+6).

Jaren Calkins rounded out the scoring Cowboys. He tied for 79th at 226 (+10) and fired a final round 82 (+10).

Patrick Azevedo was the score that was dropped. He shared 87th place at 230 (+14) and shot a final round 75 (+3).

Davis Seybert, who was competing as an individual, was 93rd. He registered a score of 233 (+17) with a third-round score of 75 (+3).

San Diego State won the team title at 821 (-43). San Diego and Colorado rounded out the top three, tying for second at 837 (-27). The Aztecs’ Justin Hastings won the individual crown at 200 (-16).

The Cowboys return to action next week. They travel to Tucson for the Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate from March 17-18.
