Lahaini, Maui, Hawai’i (11/3/24) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team moved up more than any other team Sunday during Day 2 of the Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational. The Cowboys vaulted up four spots to 15th, sitting at 562 (-6), in a tournament being played at Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course.

“We were a little sharper today,” head coach Joe Jensen said. "We have to have one more day, though. We have to stay focused and stay with what we are doing. I’m really proud of the guys, for sure. But I’m still challenging them to see how far they can move up.”

Oklahoma’s Jaxon Dowell still leads after a Sunday 66 (-5), which puts him at 129 (-13) for the tournament. His Sooners are atop the team leaderboard, as well, at 537 (-31).

Wyoming’s Brody Leid went low in Round 2 and still paces Wyoming. He fired a 66 (-5) to put him at 138 (-4) for the tournament, which positions him in a tie for 32nd. Leid’s second round featured a half dozen birdies and an eagle.

Kristof Panke isn’t far behind following a nice second-round 68 (-3) that was littered with three birdies and an eagle. He’s at 140 (-2) for the tournament and is in a tie for 44th.

Damon Vilkauskas is tied for 64th at 142 (E). He carded four birdies Sunday en route to recording a 70 (-1).

Ethan Smith, playing as an individual, is at 143 (+1) for the tournament and in a tie for 80th. He fired a second-round 72 (+1).

Patrick Azevedo bounced back after a bumpy Round 1 to log a 71 (E) in Round 2. That puts him in a tie for 88th at 145 (+3).

Davis Seybert, who’s competing as an individual, is in a tie for 95th at 146 (+4). He logged a decent second-round 72 (+1).

Jaren Calkins didn’t play his sharpest Sunday. He registered a 78 (+7) and is now at 149 (+7) for the tournament, which positions him in a tie for 114th.
