Men’s Golf 17th Following Day 1 at the Ka’anapali Classic by OUTRIGGER

LAHAINA, MAUI, Hawaii (10/27/25) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team wrapped up Day 1 at the Ka’anapali Classic by OUTRIGGER on Monday. The Cowboys are 17th as a team at 285 (+1) in a tournament being played at the Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course.
“I’m not unhappy. I wish we played a little better, and I know we can get under par here,” head coach Joe Jensen. “We played solid in a big-boy field. This young team needed to have this day and to get it under us. We are slowly getting better. We showed some flashes, and I’m pleased.”
Conner Scheich paced the Pokes. He’s tied for 35th after carding an opening round 69 (-2). Scheich’s round featured four birdies and an eagle.
Brody Leid isn’t far behind, sharing 51st place following a 70 (-1). He also holed four birdies.
Brody Knowlton and Kristof Panke rounded out Wyoming’s countable scores. They’re both tied for 92nd with a first round 74 (+2).
Ryker Lind’s score is dropped. He shares 113th place following an opening round 78 (+6).
Kellen Ball is actually highest on the leaderboard for the Pokes. He’s tied for 10th after a Monday career-best round of 67 (-4), however, he’s playing as an individual.
Austin Barry is also participating as an individual. He fired an opening round 77 (+5) and is tied for 108th.
Oklahoma leads at 263 (-21), while TCU and North Florida round out the top three at 267 (-17) and 272 (-12), respectively. Oklahoma’s Jase Summy is atop the individual leaderboard following a 62 (-9).
