MARIAN (McGLAUGHLIN) STICKEL

Marian (McGlaughlin) Stickel, age 88, passed away Sept. 9, 2019. Graveside services were held Sept. 13 at Greenwood Cemetery, with Ron Sample officiating. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Stickel; mother, Harriett Roll; father, Wilbur C. McGlaughlin; daughter-in-law, Linda L. Stickel; brother, Carl McGlaughlin; and grandson, Russell Adam Poppleton. 
Marian loved hunting, fishing, antiques, and old bottles. She was a long-time member of the National Rifle Association. Marian and husband John were also song writers. Marian worked as weather tech at the airport in Newcastle, cook for the old hospital, and did housekeeping for the Butlers. She was also a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. 
She is survived by her son, John Stickel; grandchildren, Cynthia (Stickel) Vaught and Michell Stickel; great-grandchildren, Regan Stickel, Jack Martin, and Allison Vaught, all of Ohio; son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Debbie Poppleton of Newcastle; granddaughter and husband, Shyfawn and Jon Ryks; and great-grandchildren, Darrien, Hailey, Russelle and Bradey, all of Piedmont, S.D. 
She loved her Ohio and Newcastle families. She is at peace with her soulmate, John.
