GILLETTE (WNE) —  Police arrested a 22-year-old man early Saturday morning for attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault after he allegedly shot a 23-year-old in the parking lot in the 1000 block of Stanley Avenue.

Police Deputy Chief Brent Wasson said police received a call at 11:45 p.m. Friday and were told that a man had been shot and was being taken to the hospital by a third party. It wasn’t clear from the police press report who had taken him to the hospital or who had called police.

Police learned that Jordan Morris, 22, had confronted the other man in the parking lot and allegedly fired a single round at him, but the police press report didn’t specify what the confrontation was about.

The 23-year-old had wounds on the right side of his abdomen and his right wrist. The investigation continues.
