Making waves again in 2020

Hannah Gross, home-schooled Newcastle senior, finished her last high school swimming season strong. Receiving All-State honors all four years of high school, Gross tied for Athlete of the Year with Tara Joyce. Gross also placed second to Joyce in the 200 freestyle by less than a second, while also posting her season best time in the race. Gross earned second place in the 100 backstroke too. Gross’ teammates said that she was a great role model throughout her high school swim years, and Gross said her goal was to allow Christ to be magnified in her swimming. Gross is no stranger to the podium at a state swim meet. Last year the dedicated swimmer took the state title in the 200m free and was voted by coaches across the state as Athlete of the Year. Gross plans to attend a one-year Bible college in Jackson Hole in the fall of 2021.
