CHEYENNE (WNE) — On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyo., announced she will join the Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency Caucus, chaired by U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa.

The goal of the caucus is “to rein in the federal government’s wasteful spending and hold unelected bureaucrats accountable to the American people,” according to a news release from Lummis’ office.

“For four years, the people of Wyoming have watched as the Biden-Harris administration has enabled unelected bureaucrats to become untouchable and unaccountable to the people they serve, but on January 20, 2025, that will come to a screeching halt,” Lummis said in the release. “We have a responsibility to cut wasteful spending, restore transparency, eliminate fraud and abuse within the federal government and give power back to the American people.

“The DOGE Caucus will play an integral role in sniffing out government waste, and I look forward to partnering with my colleagues and President Trump to rein in Biden’s Big Government.”
