Lorna Meglemre, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Aug. 26, 2026, at the age of 89.

Born on April 26, 1937, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of David and Lorna Holly. Lorna graduated from Madison College School of Nursing in 1962, a reflection of her deep commitment to helping others. Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, Ralph Meglemre, on Aug. 26, 1962, in Michigan.

Throughout her life, Lorna’s dedication to her nursing career took her across multiple states, where she touched countless lives with her compassionate care. A lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, she found joy in her faith and community. Lorna had a natural gift for bringing people together, whether through her passion for puzzles or her volunteer work at the Second Time Shop, where her kindness and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Lorna is survived by her devoted husband, Ralph Meglemre; her daughter, Ruth (Don) Taylor; and sons, Dale and Clifton (Cydney) Meglemre; nine beloved grandchildren; and her dear sister, Laura Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Lorna Holly; her daughter, Rebecca Snyder; and her sisters, Alice Holly Lysiak, Edith Holly Moravetz, and Lillian Holly Ehrmann; along with brothers, David, Earl, Kenneth, Chuck, Dale, and Elmer Holly.

Lorna’s family invited all who knew and loved her to celebrate her life Monday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at her church, Seventh-day Adventist, to honor her beautiful spirit and rich legacy. Burial will take place in Sturgis, South Dakota, at a later date.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember Lorna’s unwavering love and the countless lives she enriched. She will be profoundly missed but always remembered in our hearts.
