LOREN JOSEPHINE (SCHLAIKJER) COLLINS

Loren Josephine Collins of Apache Junction, Ariz., passed peacefully on June 16, 2020, at the age of 75.
She was born in South Dakota on Oct. 30, 1944, to Josephine and Arthur Schlaikjer. She grew up in Newcastle, Wyo., and graduated from Newcastle High School. She pursued her teaching degree at Monticello College and the University of Wyoming, where she met her beloved Phil.
They settled in Fort Collins, Colo., where she raised Arabian and miniature horses.
They moved their business, “The Oasis” to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1993. 
She is survived and will be deeply missed by
her only son, Benjamin (Brenda); granddaughters, Hannah and Nevaeh; and sister, Mary (Clay).
A memorial service will be held June 25 at the National Memorial Cemetery, where she will be buried with her husband. A small Celebration of Life will be held that night (contact family).
