Local news on lock

It has been kind of tough for any of us to turn away from the 24/7 news cycle for the past week or so, but we want to encourage our readers to give themselves a news break, by turning to some more local news.

We can’t blame you for sitting in front of FOX News or scrolling through your chosen social media news feed to get the latest on the failed assassination of Donald Trump, the Republican National Convention or the election withdrawal of Joe Biden, but by now the talking heads probably have your head spinning over all of that stuff.

So, we would like to offer this foray into more local — and relatable— news as a way to disengage from that whirlwind, if only for a little while.

All of the news the mainstream media has been feeding you is taking place hundreds or thousands of miles away, and while it is all very important, there are a number of big things going on in Weston County and Wyoming — including a very important local election that is now less than a month away!

We sincerely hope you’ll take advantage of the News Letter Journal’s many resources, whether you pick up the print version of the paper or scroll through news on our website, newslj.com.

We also look forward to continuing to provide local meeting recordings and other special event videos through our YouTube channel, as well as photos from events across the county on both our website and Facebook. Hopefully these enjoyable moments caught on camera can offer some reprieve from the necessary news.

As always, we at the News Letter Journal strive to bring you the latest on all the news, entertainment, and sports events happening right here in Weston County. You can’t get more local than that!
