LEANN PAULINE DUTCHER

Feb. 24, 1944–Feb. 28, 2025
Leann Pauline Dutcher (Toppenberg), age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, in Legacy, Gillette, Wyoming, from natural causes.
Leann was born February. 24, 1944, in Igloo, South Dakota, to Andrew Toppenberg and Leona Mendenhall.
On Jan. 17, 1961, she married Charles Dutcher, former pastor of The Country Church. They had three children, Tina Sundstrom, Terri Smith, and Bryan Dutcher.
Leann’s talents were many. She loved to bake, sew, and create many crafts, play card games, window shop, and watch a good soap opera. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Leann was the most compassionate, sensitive, and supportive listener. Many things in life were solved over a good cup of coffee and a kitchen table!
Her absence is deeply felt, and we will all miss her more than words can say.
She is survived by her brother, Durrell Toppenberg and wife Deb; daughters, Tina Sundstrom, Terri Smith; son, Bryan Dutcher and his wife Sherri; grandchildren, Christopher Dutcher and wife Maja, Natosha Parks and husband Chris, Angeline Dutcher, Allisha Hamlin and husband Justin, Daniel Dutcher, Caleb Luther, and Ethan Dutcher; great-grandchildren, Mason and Kaullen Sundstrom, Skyler Sumners, Elizabeth Dutcher, Charlotte Dutcher, Joshua Parks, Jayden Parks, Natallina Dutcher, and Joseph (JJ) Smith; sister-in-law, Shirley Toppenberg; brother/sister-in-law Bill and Shirley Haley; as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dutcher; parents, Andrew Toppenberg, Stace and Leona Mendenhall; brother, Deleu Toppenberg; and sister, Madonna Hecker.
Funeral services will be held at Weston County Senior Citizen Center in Newcastle, Wyoming, at 2 p.m. on March 29, with cake and coffee to follow. The family would like to express our deepest appreciation and thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Legacy, The Country Church, and the senior center. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
