Second player of the week honor for Lauterwasser – first defensive nod
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 3, 2025) – Wyoming Volleyball’s Paige Lauterwasser was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week Monday morning, as announced by the league office. It is the second career league player of the week honor for Lauterwasser as she was named the Mountain West’s Offensive Player of the Week October 28 of the last season. It is her first-career defensive nod. Lauterwasser joins Sarah Holcomb as Cowgirls to be named the conference's defensive player of the week this season.
Lauterwasser led the Cowgirls to a 2-0 week at home last week and notched a team-best 4.75 digs per set in the two victories. In both matches, Lauterwasser was one off a career-best for digs as she tallied 19 in wins against San Jose State and Fresno State. Lauterwasser, who also had four blocks on the week, helped lead a Wyoming defense that held its opponents to just a .159 hitting percentage for the week.
Lauterwasser and the rest of the Cowgirls now begin a four-match road swing beginning this week. UW travels to face Boise State at 6:30 p.m., Thursday before heading to Utah State for a noon first serve Saturday.
