Jesus Can Heal What You Are Hiding
We all have things we try to keep hidden—our fears, our hurts, our sins. We tuck them away, hoping no one will notice. We might even try to hide them from ourselves. But Jesus sees everything. He knows every corner of our hearts, and He loves us anyway. More than that, He wants to heal what we're hiding.
The Bible tells us about Jesus' compassion for those who are hurting. In Mark 5:25-34, we read about a woman who had been suffering from a bleeding condition for twelve years. She had seen many doctors and spent all she had, but her condition only grew worse. She was considered unclean and was likely an outcast in society. She was hiding in her suffering.
When she heard about Jesus, she believed He could heal her. Despite the crowds, she reached out in faith, touching the hem of His garment. Immediately, her bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed. Jesus knew what had happened and sought her out. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace and be healed of your affliction" (Mark 5:34).
This story shows that Jesus not only heals physical ailments but also the hidden pains and burdens we carry. The woman had tried everything else, but it was her faith in Jesus that made the difference. She didn't need to hide her condition from Him; instead, she found healing in His presence.
In the same way, Jesus can heal the wounds we hide from the world. Whether it's past trauma, guilt, shame, or ongoing struggles, nothing is too big or too small for Him. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Jesus wants us to come to Him with our brokenness so He can restore us.
We may feel ashamed or afraid to reveal our deepest hurts. But Jesus invites us to bring everything into the light. He says in Matthew 11:28-30, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light."
When we bring our hidden struggles to Jesus, we are met with His gentleness and love. He doesn't condemn us; instead, He offers us rest and healing. He understands our pain and is ready to carry our burdens with us. 1 Peter 5:7 encourages us to "cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you."
If you're hiding something today, remember that Jesus sees it and He cares deeply for you. He wants to bring healing and peace into your life. Take a step of faith, like the woman in Mark 5, and reach out to Him. Allow His love to penetrate those hidden places and bring the healing only He can provide.
In Him, we find true freedom and restoration. Don't be afraid to let Jesus heal what you're hiding. His love is powerful, and His grace is sufficient for every need. Trust in Him, and experience the healing and peace that come from being fully known and fully loved by the Savior.
