LARAMIE, Wyoming (2/9/25) – The University of Wyoming men’s golf team will have representation at the Genisis Collegiate Showcase on Monday. Due to the southern California wildfires, the 18-hole tournament will be contested at Torrey Pines Golf Course.

Calkins has three top-10 finishes to his name this season. His best occurred at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational where he took fourth at 5-under. In Calkins’ first spring semester competition – the Arizona N.I.T. last week – he placed in a tie for 38th at 1-under.

This marks the 11th annual Genisis Collegiate Showcase. Each foursome is comprised of a standout collegiate golfer paired with three amateurs. The three amateurs play best ball with the winning team earning $50,000 for their collegiate program.

The low collegiate player’s reward is quite meaningful, as well. They gain exemption into the 2025 Barracuda Championship – a PGA Tour event this summer.

Calkins and the rest of his Wyoming teammates are back in action at the end of the month. They host the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate from Feb. 24-26.
