Jared Hill Moves Up in Latest Rankings Release

LARAMIE, Wyoming (12/10/24) – The University of Wyoming wrestling team had six wrestlers appear in the most recent batch of rankings. The Pokes are also ranked as high as No. 26 in InterMat’s Dual Team ranking and are tied for 30th in Tournament Team rank.
Jore Volk (125) still leads the way, checking in as high as No. 7 in InterMat and WIN. He’s 2-2 this season and hasn’t competed since a dual at Oklahoma on Nov. 23.
Joey Novak (197) held steady at No. 13 in Flo and Open Mat’s polls. He’s 6-3 this season, adding three more ranked wins to his name at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite this past weekend where he placed fourth.
Jared Hill (157) broke into the top 20 for the first time this season, possessing the No. 19 slot in InterMat’s rankings. He boasted his first ranked win of the season en route to finishing fifth. Hill now holds a team-best 6-2 record.
Gabe Willochell (149) is as high as No. 20 in Open Mat’s poll. He went 2-2 in Vegas and picked up his second ranked win of the season. Willochell is 4-4 on the year.
Cole Brooks (141) didn’t move from being ranked No. 28 in InterMat’s poll after going 2-2 in Vegas. He’s 4-4 on the season.
Stockton O’Brien (133) rounds out the ranked Cowboys, owning the No. 32 spot in Flo’s rankings. He logged three wins in Vegas and his two losses were to top-10 guys. O’Brien is 5-3 on the year.
Wyoming travels to No. 1 Penn State this weekend. That dual is set for 11 a.m. start Sunday inside the Bryce Jordan Center.
