When it comes to understanding life's big questions, like why we're here and what happens after we die, having a philosophy of religion is key. But here's the thing: if our philosophy isn't based on what God says, we might miss the mark. Let's explores why having a philosophy grounded in the Word of God is crucial, using simple language and insights from scripture.

First off, let's talk about what a philosophy of religion is. It's basically a way of thinking about God, the universe, and our place in it all. Now, here's the problem: if our philosophy isn't based on what God tells us in His Word, we might end up believing things that aren't true.

The Bible tells us that God's Word is our guide for understanding life and making sense of the world around us. In Proverbs 3:5-6, it says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." This verse reminds us that when we rely on God's wisdom instead of our own, we'll find the right path.

But if our philosophy of religion is based on something other than God's Word, we're like a ship without a rudder, drifting aimlessly on the sea. Jesus warns us about this in Matthew 7:24-27 when He talks about building our lives on a solid foundation. He says, "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." But those who don't listen to Him are like foolish people who build their houses on sand, and when the storms come, their houses crumble.

So, having a philosophy of religion based on the Word of God is like building our lives on a strong foundation. It gives us direction, purpose, and peace, knowing that we're following the truth. Let's make sure our beliefs are rooted in God's Word, so we can navigate life's journey with confidence and assurance. Colossians 2:7 "having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude."
