Honoring our veterans
V
eteran’s Day is just around the corner, and the News Letter Journal would like to extend our gratitude to all of those who have sacrificed so much to ensure our freedom and defend this great country we call home.
In honor of our local veterans, next week’s paper will feature special content highlighting a couple of our local veterans, and we thank those advertisers for their support of this veteran spotlight. We hope you look to next week’s paper to read about these
local heroes.
On Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Weston County Senior Center at 8 a.m. there is a veterans’ breakfast, sponsored by the Marna M. Kuehne Foundation and featuring guest speaker Sandy McFarland, veteran service officer. These breakfasts are hosted monthly, so if you can’t attend this one, be sure to look for upcoming events. They are open to the public.
Weston County School District No.1 will also honor veterans during its annual Veteran’s Day program the morning of Nov. 11 at 9 a.m in Crouch Auditorium.
Join us in recognizing and remembering all of those who have served, honor a veteran closest to you and thank those that you see, not just on Veterans Day but every day. And, don’t forget to attend the concert in the Crouch Auditorium next Thursday to join local students in honoring all of those who have fought for this country.
