Holtzen, White Break School Records, Four Others Run Personal Bests at Stanford Invite

STANFORD, Calif. (April 4, 2025) – The University of Wyoming track and field program closed out the Stanford Invite with two school records and six personal bests, Friday night.
Junior Ryker Holtzen, the reigning Mountain West 3,000-meter Steeplechase champion, broke the school record with a time of 8:35.70. His time, good for fifth overall at the meet, surpassed his previous personal best by over five seconds.
In the women’s 3,000-meter Steeplechase, senior Abigail Whitman finished first in her section and 19th overall with a time of 10:24.48. Her personal-best time also marked as the No. 4 time in program history.
Junior Jacob White took a school record of his own after finishing fifth in the second section, 21st overall, in the men’s 5,000 meters. His time of 13:37.77 was a personal best by nearly 10 seconds.
Senior Kylie Simshauser ran to an 11th-place finish, 39th overall, in the women’s 5,000-meter section three with a personal-best time of 16:18.26. She now sits at No. 3 in school outdoor history.
Graduate Marina Trave Ferrer posted a No. 4 time in program history in the 10,000 meters. Her time of 34:24.27, a personal best, was good for 19th in the section and 49th overall.
In the men’s 10,000 meters, senior Mason Norman took 31st in his section for a time of 29:11.67 while senior Gus McIntyre finished 38th with a time of 30:14.12, a personal best.
