Holcomb Named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week

Second-career honor for Holcomb
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 25, 2024) – Wyoming volleyball’s Sarah Holcomb was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week, Monday by the league office. It marks the second consecutive year that Holcomb has received the player of the week nod the last week of the season.
Holcomb was a menace at the net for the Cowgirls, averaging 2.40 blocks per set and tallying 24 total. Holcomb, who had double-digit blocks in both matches last week, opened play with a 10-block performance against Utah State. She then followed that up with a career-high 14 total blocks in the win over Nevada.
On the year, Holcomb leads the league with 1.35 blocks per set overall and is second in league play with 1.41 per.
