HELEN NICOLLS

Aug. 19, 1933–Sept. 6, 2025

Longtime Newcastle, Wyoming, area rancher Helen Patricia Hansen Nicolls, age 92, passed away Sept. 6, 2025, at her ranch home, surrounded by her family.

Helen was born Aug. 19, 1933, at Pedro, Wyoming, west of Newcastle, to Carl and Ella Toth Hansen.

Helen attended school in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School. 

Helen married Corbin Nicolls, from Pringle, South Dakota, on Feb. 15, 1953, at the Methodist Church in Newcastle.  They were married for 64 years before his passing.

Helen is survived by her children, Stanley (Linda) Nicolls, Sam (Tracey) Nicolls, Merle Nicolls, and Karen Dowdy; sister, Shirley Hansen Borgialli; brother, Jack (Betty) Hansen; sister-in-law, Barb Hansen; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

Helen is preceded in death by her twin infants, Harland and Marvin Nicolls; parents, Carl and Ella Hansen; husband, Corbin Nicolls; granddaughter, Amanda Nicolls; infant grandson, Kyle Dowdy; three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, at First United Methodist Church in Newcastle at 10 a.m. Lunch and fellowship to follow at
the church.
