Harvey pleads guilty, must pay more than $200,000

CODY (WNE) — After pleading guilty to felony theft from Rocky Mountain Discount Liquor, Julie Harvey has been ordered to pay more than $200,000 in restitution.
According to a plea deal signed by Harvey on April 30, in exchange for her guilty plea and agreement to pay restitution in the amount of $203,267, three additional counts of felony theft were dropped by the state.
Harvey will serve three years probation rather than a jail sentence.
The case dates back to December 2020, when Harvey began stealing from gambling machines inside the store. Over the course of three years, she is alleged to have stolen approximately $191,000, according to an affidavit prepared by Cody Police Department Detective Scott Burlingame.
Rocky Mountain Discount Liquor owner Brandon McArtor discovered missing deposits totaling $3,219.84 during a December 2023 reconciliation, according to the affidavit. Further investigation revealed Harvey had been misappropriating funds from the store’s gaming machines since 2020.
