HARRIET LAVERNE (BREVIK) (ANDERSON) LOCKE

Nov. 6, 1950–April 3, 2025
Harriet Laverne (Brevik) (Anderson) Locke was born Nov. 6, 1950, to Harold and Mary Brevik. Her father passed away when she was 2. She became an Anderson when her mother remarried and soon after she became a proud big sister of three.
In college, Harriet met and married her best friend and love of her life, Nathan Earl Locke Jr. Harriet and Nathan celebrated 48 happy years together and to that union was added two daughters, two sons-in-law and several grandchildren before Nathan passed away.
Nathan’s passing left Harriet extremely heartbroken. Harriet’s two favorite men in all the world were in Heaven and she was left behind. Her prayers of wanting to hug her husband and dad were answered April 3, 2025, when she stepped out of bed and into the waiting
arms of Jesus, her husband, and her father.
Harriet was Nathan’s partner in everything; she was beside him as a pastor’s wife, she was his secretary in his construction business, and for several years she worked right beside him on the job site and could almost out-shingle him on a good day. She really enjoyed being a pastor’s wife, she played the church piano and sang. When they weren’t pastoring a church, she and Nathan would travel with their daughters to different churches, playing and singing together filling in for pastors when needed. Then they would settle down to pastor again for a while.
Harriet loved to cook, sew, play games, draw, paint, sing, play piano, decorate cakes, and be adventurous. Her smile would light up a room. She loved being a mom and grandma, and always fixed way too much food when people came over. Her grand kids loved her very much.
Harriet is survived by her two girls, Tanya-Marie (Roger) Foote and Michelle (Brian) Dandurand; 13 grandchildren, Tabitha (Joseph) Quinones, Rodney (Hannah) Foote, Nathan Foote, Benjamin Foote, Hannah (Chris) Hardman, Daniel Foote, Elizabeth Foote, Sarah Foote, Johnny Foote, Colton Dandurand, Kevin Dandurand, Cameron Dandurand, and great-grandson Waylon Foote and another on the way; sisters, Mary (Ron) Risdon, Hazel (Jon) Johnston, and Dorothey Caple; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Brevik and Mary Anderson; stepfather, Ed Anderson; husband, Nathan Locke; and granddaughter, Rachel Foote.
A memorial service will be held at the Weston County Fairgrounds in the Search and Rescue building on Saturday, April 12, at noon.
